It is the most common pathogenic protozoan infection in humans in industrialized countries. Infection rates between men and women are similar, with women being symptomatic, while infections in men are usually asymptomatic.

The Trichomonas vaginalis Rapid Test Cassette (vaginal swab) is a qualitative membrane-based immunoassay for the detection of Trichomonas Vaginalis antigens by visual interpretation of color development on the inner strip.

7. Follow standard laboratory procedure and biological safety guidelines to address material as potentially contagious. When the analysis procedure is completed, dispose of the specimens after sterilizing them at 121º C for at least 20 min. Alternatively, they can be treated with 0.5% sodium hypochlorite for 1-2 hours.

8. Do not pipette the reagent orally and do not eat while performing the test.

9. Wear gloves during the entire procedure.
