Rapid immunochromatographic test for the detection of antibodies against Trypanosoma cruzi in serum, plasma or whole blood | 5001205 BIO-CHAGAS
Chagas disease is a chronic infection caused by the parasite trypanosoma cruzi. It is endemic in Central and South America.
Transmission to humans occurs after the bite of a hematophagous triatomine insect. T. cruzi can also be transmitted by blood transfusion or less commonly congenitally.
BIO-CHAGAS is designed for the rapid qualitative detection of T. cruzi antibodies in human serum, plasma or whole blood. The test primarily detects IgG antibodies – IgM antibodies can be reactive in high concentrations.

Bio-Chagas Results
1. The test is used for the qualitative detection of antibodies to T. Cruzi. In the very early phase of infection, false negative results can be obtained due to a low concentration of antibodies.
2. Test results should always be analyzed together with other available data and information, so it is recommended to see a doctor. If the test result is negative and Chagas infection is suspected, other tests should also be performed.
3. All materials contaminated with samples must be inactivated by approved methods (autoclave or chemical treatment) according to applicable regulations.
