Mexico accumulates 210 deaths from Covid-812

As of this Wednesday, April 14, Mexico accumulated 210 thousand 812 deaths from Covid-19, that is, 518 more than the previous day, health authorities reported during the afternoon conference on coronavirus in the country.

Likewise, it was detailed that the country added 24 infections in the last 5 hours, which amounted to 2 million 291 thousand 246 confirmed cases.

With these figures, Mexico occupies the fourteenth place in the world in the number of infections and the third place with the most deaths due to the pandemic, behind the United States and Brazil, according to the American Johns Hopkins University. 

Regarding the details of the vaccination plan, the Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo Lopez-Gatell, explained that at the 21:00 p.m. cutoff on Tuesday, April 13, nationwide, they were applied 553 thousand 926 doses of the vaccine against Covid-19.

He also reported that since the beginning of the national vaccination strategy, a total of 12 million 407 thousand 625 doses. It was also highlighted that 2 million 632 thousand 006 people have complete vaccination schedules.
 

Lack of physical activity increases the risk of dying from coronavirus

Lack of exercise is associated with an increased risk, if Covid-19, of developing a more serious form of the disease and dying as a consequence of it, according to a study carried out with almost 50 thousand patients that is published this Wednesday.

People who had been physically inactive for at least two years before the pandemic were more likely to be hospitalized, require intensive care and die from the new coronavirus disease compared to patients who were physically active, the study found. published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

Among risk factors for severe disease, only advanced age and a history of organ transplants outrank physical inactivity, according to the researchers.
