Ministry of Health prepares new format of evening conferences on Covid-19

The Ministry of Health confirmed that afternoon conferences will return, but with a new format.

This Tuesday, June 29, it was reported that the Ministry of Health of the Government of Mexico plans to return with new afternoon conferences to report on the situation due to the new Covid-19 coronavirus in the country.

Hugo Lopez-Gatell, Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, reported that the format of the afternoon conference would change and would possibly be held once a week. 

In the “morning” conference this Tuesday, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported that the return of the afternoon conferences occurs given the rebound in positive cases registered in recent weeks.

Everything indicates that the Covid-19 conferences will not be at the National Palace but at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, which is located on Paseo de la Reforma.

It was on June 11 when the Ministry of Health reported that the afternoon conferences would be suspended to make way for a new way of reporting the situation of the pandemic in the country. 

Covid-19 in Mexico

Mexico reported this Monday 44 new deaths from covid-19 in the last 24 hours, for a total of 232 deaths, the Ministry of Health reported this Monday, which also stated that the country reached 608 million vaccines applied .

In addition, the daily technical report registered 1.661 new infections, bringing the confirmed cases to two million 507 thousand 453.
